Seventh
Year - Lesson 5

Peruvian Vipertooth
The Peruvian Vipertooth is the smallest of dragonkind.
They are only fifteen feet in length. Though small in size, they
are the fastest in the air. They are smooth-scaled with a copper
coloring. Along its spinal ridge are black markings. The
Vipertooth has short horns but it is the fangs, which are particular venomous,
that pose the greater threat.
The Vipertooth feeds readily on goats and cows.
However, they have developed an extreme liking for humans. In the
late nineteenth century, the International Confederation of Wizards sent
a team of exterminators to thin the ranks of the Vipertooth, due to
alarming numbers of them, and the great risk to the human populations.
The eggs of the Peruvian Vipertooth are copper, with the
same black markings it will bear once hatched.

Romanian Longhorn
Romanian Longhorns have scales of a rich
dark-green. They also have long, glittering golden horns.
They use the horn to gore prey before roasting it. They favor
goats as their diet.
Unfortunately for Longhorns, their horns, when powdered,
are highly valued as potion ingredients. They have been nearly
decimated because of this. To help save them, the horns are now
defined as a Class B Tradable Material. More important, the native
territory of the Romanian Longhorn is now the world's most important
dragon reservation. Wizards from all over the world study a
variety of dragons at close range. Additionally, the Longhorn has
become the subject of an intensive breeding program. Whether this
is because wizards fear losing this dragon, or whether they fear losing
access to powdered Longhorn horn, is unknown.
Romanian Longhorn eggs are a light green when laid,
slowly darkening to the color of the dragon's hide.
